Right Circulatory Network and Pneumatic Ventricular Assist Device (VAD).

The right ventricular assist device (RVAD) in modelled as described in "Pulsatile Flow Pump" section. RVAD is a pneumatic device that produces a pulsatile blood flow; it can be driven in syncronized, in syncronized with delay and in full-empty way. The RVAD volume can be changed accordind to the experiment, also driving and vacuum drive pressure can be adjusted.

The open loop network consists of: atrial reservoir (preload), right ventricle and pulmonary arterial tree. The behavior of the native ventricle is implemented as reported in "Numerical Hart Model (1)" section. RAP is the right atrial pressure, RVP is the right ventricular pressure, PAP is the pulmonary arterial pressure. TV is the tricuspid valve and PV is the pulmonary valve. Cap (Rap) is the pulmonary arterial compliance (pulmonary variable peripheral resistance). Rcp (Lp) is the characteristic pulmonary resistance (inertance). Qri is the (Qro) input (output) right ventricular flow. TV and PV are modelled using resistances and diodes. PV (TV) regurgitation can be modelled with two resistances Rro and Rinv (Rri and Rinv) without diode.

Right Circulatory Network with RVAD and Systemic Arterial Tree Implemented Using Three RLC Elements.

The pnumatic pulsatile right ventricular assist device (RVAD) is modelled as described in "Pulsatile Flow Pump" section. The open loop network consists of: atrial reservoir (preload), right ventricle and pulmonary arterial tree composed of main, small, arteriole and capillary compartments. RAP is the right atrial pressure, RVP is the right ventricular pressure. TV is the tricuspid valve and PV is the pulmonary valve.  The behavior of the native ventricle is implemented as reported in "Numerical Hart Model (1)" section.
