Electrical Analogue of Circulatory Network with Total Artificial Heart (TAH).

In CARDIOSIM© the total artificial heart (TAH) was implemented by replacing the two native ventricles with two pneumatic pulsatile VAD. The circulatory network is realised using RLC elements. The systemic arterial (pulmonary) section is modelled with 4-MW element in wich Ras (Rap) is the systemic (pulmonary) variable peripheral resisatnce. The systemic (pulmonary) venous compartment is reproduced with 2-WM element. In the systemic venous section Rvs is a varable resistance. In the electric analogue Pt is the mean intrathoracic pressure.
